From August 5–10, 2012, the city of Fairbanks will host the triennial Congress of the International Union for Circumpolar Health (IUCH).
Focus
The health and wellness of northern peoples are the focus of The International Union for Circumpolar Health (IUCH) www.iuch.net; the preeminent network of international societies and organizations dedicated to health in the circumpolar regions. Through the triennial Congress, the IUCH addresses the long-standing need for the exchange of health-related knowledge among scientists, health care professionals, policy analysts, government agencies, and community leaders, as well as the results of recent research efforts for the benefit of all humankind.
Welcome Back to Fairbanks
The 2012 triennial Congress will be held in Fairbanks, Alaska. The Congress will connect participants with the people, places, and experiences that make Interior Alaska spectacular and will showcase the cultural richness and diversity of Alaska.
The Mission
Countries and communities have focused their attention on health and environmental issues in the circumpolar world. In keeping with its ongoing mission, the Congress will highlight challenges faced by circumpolar health professionals and successes of northern-based health care. The week-long event will feature thought-provoking keynote addresses, workshops, information sessions, social activities, and networking activities that will provide many opportunities for intellectual, artistic, cultural, and social exchanges.
